I am so excited! I reached over 1,000 likes on my Facebook page today! This has been such a forever ago goal for me and reaching it today just makes me so happy inside! Running a small business and teaching full time is hard work and to see that people love what I do makes me smile ear to ear. Shew, I have been MIA on my blog the past couple weeks! Here is a short recap of what is coming and whats been going on!
Saturday June 25th I shot a 50th wedding anniversary at Cross Keys Vineyard. This anniversary was the sweetest thing and felt like I was shooting their wedding all over again!
Wow, this cake is SO amazing!!! 
The next morning I ran off to the hospital to shoot baby Kiley in the hospital (which I already blog posted! High five for me!).
I finished packing my bags, wrote up a quick blog post for Kiley and then I traveled to OBX for one of my best friends wedding and spent the week there with her family.

After a week of relaxing on the beach I drove 6 hours home, crashed in bed and woke up the next morning to shoot a wedding with my good friend Sam, with Samantha Ritter Photography. We shot this amazing wedding at JMU! Obvioulsy this kind of wedding always excites me AND it was on the football field!
After the wedding with Sam, I woke up the next morning to shoot sweet Kiley’s newborns!
Shew, see what I mean?! It was a crazy end of June! Now I am teaching art camp and editing my life away! See you soon!

 This beautiful wedding was located in an adorable town called Crozet located in the mountains of Virginia. The venue was at the gorgeous Grace Estate Vineyard. This couple was a blast to work with and their wedding day was picture perfect! For days we watched the weather because storms were all around their big day. We lucked out and had the most beautiful weather without a cloud in the sky.
Laura is a very simple yet extremely elegant bride and it showed on her wedding day. Her attention to small details were beautiful and made this wedding absolutely stunning. Laura’s hair pulled back in the most elegant bun paired with the most beautiful asymmetrical dress was just the start of the most gorgeous details. Sam wore a striking grey suit with pink accents from his tie to his socks.
Congratulations you two, I am so honored to be a small part of your beautiful day! Thank you for taking such great care of my team and loving my small business! Here are a few of my favorites from your day!

When Whitney first told me we would be going to Josh’s family farm to take pictures I was immediately excited! New locations for photographers is like christmas morning. As photographers we get tired of suggesting the same public locations to take couples so I am always excited when people invite me to their family land because it is bound to have perfect locations. Virginia offers so many amazing places to take photographs and you just can’t beat these blue ridge mountains! I was already excited about the new location and then she mentioned Josh’s family truck that his parents rode away in on their wedding day!? I really couldn’t contain my excitement for this opportunity and you will see why!
Josh and Whitney aren’t technically high school sweethearts but did go to high school together. They jokingly talk about 5th period together where Josh says Whitney was just “too cool” for him…Whitney disagrees and laughs every time when he mentions this! Although Whitney and Josh didn’t date in high school together they have been together for the past 5+ years.  They are the sweetest couple and love on each other without any direction from me! I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in Novemeber! Congratulations you two!

This post is going to turn into a personal one. Laura and I grew up together so these pictures of her in her wedding dress are special to me in more ways than one. I can still remember the day Laura asked me to be a part of her wedding day because I was so honored. I am always honored when people value my photography and want me to become their photographer but it is different when someone you’ve known for so long asks you. I was so excited to be involved in Laura’s wedding and you will see why later when I post on their wedding.
Laura and I grew up with families who were together often, we swam on the same swim teams and grew up by the pool together. Laura is younger than I so when she entered high school I took her and a few of her friends under my wing. I loved these girls! They became some of my favorite memories in high school and for that I am grateful! I wasn’t there for her entire high school career but what I did have I cherished.
As you will see, Laura is absolutely stunning and this simple asymmetrical dress is to die for, literally! The simplicity of Laura is what makes her so beautiful and not to mention she is the sweetest and most generous person! I am SO glad we have been reconnected through your wedding. I have truly enjoyed talking “teacher” talk and becoming friends again! Congratulations Laura! Â

Well, this post is going to become personal. Holly and I have a rather funny story. We grew up in the same area, had the same friends, went to the same gatherings, yet we never really met or became friends in high school. We even went to the same college (Go Dukes!). Crazy, I know. But Holly and I didn’t become friends until we were hired at the same elementary school the same year as first year teachers! When I first saw Holly at new teacher orientation I knew her name, I knew who she was but we had never had a conversation ever…so I walked up to her and started talking about some mutual friends and we clicked instantly. Its funny now, because I don’t think we would have been good friends in high school, but in my eyes we are the perfect adult best friends! I couldn’t have made it through my first year teaching…or my second year, or even my third year without this girl! I am so grateful that she has walked into my life for so many reasons… hey, timing is everything isn’t it?!
I met Holly and Mike before they were ever engaged (its been a few years since Mike popped the question). I still laugh at the time Mike asked me and one of their friends if he should pop the question during a night of bowling while Holly was up to bowl! I literally looked at him and started to laugh because he tends to make plenty of jokes and this comment was just too random to be true, right?! No, Mike popped the question that Christmas… so I guess I shouldn’t have laughed!
This engagement session took some work! I had to beg and plead these two to get engagement pictures taken and finally it happened! I’m not going to lie, going through these pictures from a few months ago had me in tears again…from laughter. This session was hilarious! I am glad I was able to grab a few out of the hundreds I took where they actually took my nuzzling comments seriously!

I am so excited for these two! They are truly a wonderful couple who I love dearly and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for their lives as a married couple!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with Samantha Ritter Photography! I have photograph with Sam once before and I really love it! The best thing about Sam is that she is also an elementary art teacher! We found ourselves on a ride to Charlottesville talking about our school year, our favorite lessons and some of the amazing things we get to do as art teachers! We got out of the car, and turned on our photography knowledge and got to work at the most beautiful venue I think i’ve ever seen!
Mount Ida Farm, is located in Charlottesville, Va. If you have not seen this location in person or in a magazine…this place is breathtaking! I couldn’t believe it when Sam told me we would be shooting a wedding there. I am a person who follows a lot of photographer blogs and read my share of bridal magazines (mainly for the images), so I have had my fair share of drooling over this location and was SO SO excited for this opportunity!
Not knowing the couple at all, I was welcomed with open arms! Thank you, to the Clapp and Sanders family for being so genuine and sweet during this entire wedding! Here are a few images I took as the second photographer.

Whew, I am SO behind on my blog! Gregory Wedding needed some attention, so here it is!
I met Jessica at a mutual best friends jewelry party! We started talking about how she was newly engaged and how she was looking for a photographer. We talked about her colors and where it would be located and when it was but I NEVER thought I would become her wedding photographer! Needless to say, Jess contacted me that week asking about becoming her photographer for her big day and I was so honored and couldn’t wait to say YES! A little over a year later, they were married and I was able to capture their beautiful day!
Jess and Jon have been the IDEAL couple to work with. They are extremely laid back, go with the flow kind of people and for a photographer, this is a dream come true! I met Jess and Jon at Longwood University for their engagement pictures with our mutual best friend (Aarika). Well, we all knew it was calling for rain…but it wasn’t raining YET so we decided to go forward with the pictures. Needless to say… it started to downpour so I went back to Longwood for round two of pictures! Here are a few from that day…
Longwood was such a beautiful campus! 
On to the wedding day! Jess and Jon’s wedding was located at Apple Blossom Plantation in Providence Forge, VA (aka Richmond). They were married April 12th, 2014 (I told you I was behind on everything!). This beautiful location had a lot to offer for a bride. A beautiful ceremony setting placed in front of a huge white house. The reception was located in the back of the house with beautiful details everywhere to be found.
