Baby Josie

This wonderful family welcomed their sweet baby girl Josie into the world on May 2nd, weighting 8lbs 11 oz at 8:11am! I love a good hospital session and then a newborn session to follow after. There is just something about new babies as a photographer that I just love. Maybe its their new baby soft skin, or their sweet eye lashes batting away, or maybe its their sweet smell and cuddles that I love the most! I just love babies and had a blast shooting little Miss Josie in the hospital and at home!

Kim and I have become friends over the years ever since I joined her volleyball team 5+ years ago. This past season we had to go on without her and still brought home the winning t-shirt for new baby Josie. We are SO excited to have her back next season. Below you will see the season where we won the championship t-shirt while Kim was 5 months pregnant, what a champ! We love you Kim and are so excited for your new journey with your new baby girl!

Heather and Greg {Maternity}

Maternity pictures are becoming my new favorite thing to photograph, mainly because I think women become so beautiful during pregnancy. Heather is definitely a beautiful soon to be mom and is the definition of a glowing mom. I loved working with these two! They had me laughing the whole time and who can resist that bump! I am so excited to meet their sweet girl (hopefully soon). Congratulations and best of luck through delivery and welcoming this new baby girl. Weekend Recap

This past weekend I traveled up to New Jersey again. Last weekend I was up there as well celebrating the life of my grandmother who lived a beautiful 91 years! This weekend was more relaxed with the kiddos and we even hit a Yankee game! This was my first Yankee game ever and it was the most perfect day. My cousin, Lauren and I went with our Dads to Yankee Stadium and had a great day! Lauren and I got on the jumbo screen and even sat in a section where Jeter hit two foul balls (didn’t snag one though!). After the ball game we had dinner with more of my cousins who now all have children! I was able to capture some really beautiful moments of the kids and wanted to share. Enjoy a little bit of my weekend and loving on my “nieces and nephews”!

The Nieder Family

 

I met Kim several years (I think five!) ago when I joined her rec league volleyball team! This year she announced to us before the fall season started that she was expecting! We were all so excited for her but all very surprised! Well, if you know anything about Kim, you won’t be surprised that she continued to play the whole season! Needless to say we won this year and she was 5 months pregnant in our championship game!!! Whooohooo she’s amazing! I was honored when Kim asked me to continue shooting her family during this new time in their lives.

We were not planning on getting any maternity pictures done but when I found this field and realized Kim was still a week away from delivery I had to call her, and boy am I SO glad I did! Kim is absolutely stunning as an expecting mother! Enjoy this amazing set of images of this beautiful family in the most perfect yellow field!

Baby Eli

Meet baby Elijah! This little fella is close to my heart because his momma is a really close friend of mine and my assistant for KKP! I am so excited for the Malca family and their new bundle of joy. I love this little guy and cant wait to see him grow! Welcome to the world little man!  Love this one!  This was the first time his eye opened for me! I had visited two times prior to bringing my camera and I never saw these precious little eyes.  Mom’s view…such a beautiful moment. A favorite of mine!  Lily’s laugh is contagious, cant you tell!?

It all started with an elephant…in the room

This blog is not only going to show the photography that is happening at KKP but also other things going on in my life. Welcome to my first personal post! My friend, Erika and I have been so busy the past couple months painting artwork for people and their homes. It all started with a blank canvas that I had laying around (there are lots of these in my apartment). I wanted to fill up some wall space in my room and decided on an elephant (I love their wrinkles and shape) . Seeking advice and help I called on my talented art teacher friend Erika. We painted at the same time, working on different parts of the elephant eventually finishing with a rather cute and wrinkly guy. I added my final touch of detail in the background and it was finished. As I do with most things…I take photographs of everything and post them to Instagram. Well, when this little guy made his appearance my facebook, instagram and phone started going off like crazy. Before we knew it, we were taking on jobs left and right and my apartment turned into a massive painting studio! Here are a few of the paintings we have done!

Haha! The start of Camels…We did 3 but I can’t find the third! Nope…not doing this one again! HA! This guy was tedious  and the seashells about had me throw it across the room! This one too…with all those tiny dots! Found an extra pair of chopsticks and used those for my dot making…use what you have, right?
The beginning of Golden’s… Can’t complain, they are the sweetest!Hehehe…so much personality in this one!
Couldn’t resist with a pig request! They ARE my favorite animal! The start of baby gifts…and baby animals 🙂 Makes you smile  The only painting we did without someone purchasing it…finally sold it at our silent auction!
I keep my apartment at freezing temperatures… this must of been a snow day for us!  Erika does all the dogs on her own! I sometimes will jump in on the background and her sanity, but with running a photography business on top of teaching and now painting I had to make sure editing was getting done too (and sleep was also occurring)! Isn’t she so talented?! Ridiculous  This one has a cute little hokie foot in the eye…representing Tech fans as the gift givers and the gift receivers Florida Gators fans….Sneaky!  Did you notice Erika in most all of them?! Ha, I don’t know why I started making her to this…maybe the paint was still wet and I couldn’t wait another second to post the paintings…but it is now our thing. It remind me of that old show “Tool Time” (right?!) with Jonathan Taylor Thomas and the neighbor peeking over the fence. I hope you have enjoyed our paintings. We have had a lot of fun with your requests of unique animals!

I first met Michelle when I photographed her at my first wedding as a photographer. Michelle was in the wedding party and that is where I would meet her then boyfriend, Josh (I have some rather interesting pictures of him at that ceremony!). I can’t say that I wasn’t excited when Michelle asked me to photograph her wedding because I about jumped out of my seat…this girl has the model look every photographer dreams of having on a wedding day (you will see!). Michelle and Josh, were such an AMAZING couple to work with and always had me constantly laughing. I am so excited to share with you a few of my favorite images from their day!

Flash Back to Tina and Lee’s Wedding

I can’t help but flash back to this wedding! This wedding was set to be outside…and every brides nightmare happened when the skies literally opened up 20 minutes before the ceremony, but not for Tina. I have never seen someone so at ease with mother nature making such an appearance on her wedding day! It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have attended, even in the stables with the horses. The ceremony was cozy and felt like family sitting in a room watching a beautiful couple say their vows. Eventually mother nature decided it would be a great way to show how the most beautiful light for a photographer is after it rains… and I was able to steal the couple away for some amazing photos at Hermitage Hill Farm!

A Year in Review

This year sure has been a great one! I can’t believe it flew by, yet again. I went through some old photographs from this year and decided this would be a great post!
